Chief Academic Officer plays a pivotal role in shaping and
advancing the academic vision and strategic initiatives of the
institution. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing
academic programs, ensuring quality and compliance with
accreditation standards, and fostering an environment that promotes
innovative teaching and learning practices. The role involves
collaborating with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to
enhance curriculum development, research activities, and student
success outcomes. The Associate Chief Academic Officer also
supports the Chief Academic Officer in policy formulation, resource
allocation, and institutional planning to meet the evolving
educational needs. Ultimately, this position drives academic
excellence and contributes to the institution’s mission by aligning
academic goals with broader organizational objectives. Minimum
Qualifications: A doctoral degree in a relevant academic discipline
or equivalent terminal degree. At least 7 years of progressive
experience in higher education administration or academic
leadership roles. Demonstrated experience in curriculum
development, accreditation processes, and academic policy
implementation. Strong understanding of higher education trends,
regulatory requirements, and best practices. Proven ability to lead
diverse teams and manage complex projects within an academic
environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a
multi-campus or large university setting. Familiarity with online
and hybrid learning modalities and educational technology
integration. Track record of successful grant writing and research
administration. Experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion
initiatives in academic settings. Advanced training or
certification in leadership, project management, or higher
education administration. Responsibilities: Lead and coordinate the
development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs
and policies. Collaborate with faculty and department heads to
promote curriculum innovation and academic rigor. Ensure compliance
with accreditation requirements and maintain academic standards
across all programs. Support faculty development initiatives and
foster a culture of continuous improvement and scholarly
engagement. Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and
resource management to support academic priorities. Oversee
assessment and evaluation processes to monitor student learning
outcomes and program effectiveness. Represent the academic division
in institutional committees and external partnerships. Assist in
recruitment, retention, and mentoring of academic staff to build a
diverse and talented team. Skills: The Associate Chief Academic
Officer utilizes strong leadership and communication skills daily
to engage with faculty, staff, and external partners effectively.
Analytical and strategic thinking skills are essential for
evaluating academic programs and aligning them with institutional
goals. The role requires proficiency in project management to
oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously and ensure timely
completion. Interpersonal skills are critical for mentoring
academic personnel and fostering a collaborative work environment.
