Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An Occupational Therapist is needed for a contract position at an elementary school focused on early childhood programs. This role supports students with special needs in a school setting, providing therapy services to enhance their development and participation in educational activities. Location: - Independence, MO Position Details: - Duration: March 26, 2026 May 22, 2026 - Schedule: 35 hours per week - Setting: Onsite at an elementary school, specifically Liggett Trail Education Center serving mostly early childhood programs - Caseload: Early childhood students requiring occupational therapy services Responsibilities: - Conduct assessments to identify student needs and develop individualized treatment plans - Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in the school environment - Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student progress - Document therapy sessions and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and state requirements - Adapt strategies and interventions to support functional goals within classroom and daily routines Qualifications: - Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) with experience in school-based settings - Knowledge of early childhood occupational therapy practices preferred - Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams - Strong communication and documentation skills - Experience with individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation is beneficial Perks and Benefits: - Professional experience in a supportive educational environment - Opportunity to impact early childhood development and student success - Exposure to a variety of cases within a school-based therapy practice This opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience in school-based occupational therapy.
