Data Engineer Chemours is seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing Enterprise Data Services team! This position will report directly to the US Based Digital Product Manager This role will work to develop, expand, and enhance the data pipelines running into our Enterprise Data Services (EDS) platform. EDS is a cloud-based, common access point for Chemours data enabling Digital transformation across the company, including our global network of manufacturing sites, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Research. The hire will be responsible for developing, and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, database architects, data analysts and data scientists on data initiatives. They must be self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following: + Capture requirements for data transformation in support of data science and reporting needs + Design, develop and manage data pipelines in SQL and Python + Inform data management policy + Producing data products using Microsoft Azure ecosystem technologies + Deploying, monitoring, and maintaining SQL and Python-based data pipelines using the capabilities in Microsoft Azure + Providing critical input to data set design and dimensional modeling discussions + Organizing and leading discussions to review and compare data transformation approaches + Evaluating new technologies that may bring additional automation and capability to the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) platform In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following: + Bachelors in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field + 3+ years experience in Data Engineer role + Experience building and optimizing big data data pipelines, architecture and data sets. + Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases. + Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python + Strong organizational skills + Ability to speak clearly and concisely, share knowledge and make decisions + Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets. + Experience with native cloud services: Azure cloud native apps + Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management. + A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets. + Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable big data data stores.
