Job Description:

Associate Project Manager Summary The Associate Project Manager will plan, execute, and finalize projects while managing to the constraints of budget, resources, schedule, and quality. These efforts include coordinating the initiatives of matrixed teams and external clients to deliver according to plan and SLA. In addition to these accountabilities, this role will participate in 4-weeks of structured curriculum, guided practical application and mentoring opportunities. Responsibilities Attend regular mentoring sessions. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs. Monitor and approve project financials including client billing and team timesheets. Communicate expectations in accordance with the Project Plan to align the stakeholders and project team members. Measure project performance to identify and quantify variances and perform required corrective actions. Execute tasks as defined in the Project Plan. Create a project organization structure by defining roles and responsibilities. Identify and mitigate project risk impacts on the project. Record detailed customer requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders to establish the project deliverables, using various requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups). Improve team performance by leading, motivating, and building team cohesiveness. Communicate and provide support to stakeholders to establish strong rapport. Requirements 1 year of experience as a Project Manager / Project Coordinator / Business Analyst Ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders and to discuss technical concepts using non-technical jargon. Ability to work within broadly defined parameters and focus the efforts of others to an established goal. Ability to travel a minimum of 10% of the time. Preferred Understanding of project methodologies (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban, etc.). Experience with conversions and implementations. Ability to develop relationships. Knowledge of annuities and life products. One or more of the following certifications: PMP, CAPM, CSM. This is a 12-month Contract opportunity with the option to convert to client employment with our Topeka, KS client. 100% Paid employee Medical/Dental Benefits, Paid time off, Paid Holidays, and 401(k) (with immediately-vested company match) available with TriCom during the contract period.
