Become a Senior Commercial Manager with Capita Experience As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will: * Assess the revenue opportunity versus the risk & cost profile of the pricing/commercial model * Support and lead the contract negotiations including the direct supplier negotiations and flow-downs * Provide proactive contract management and manage commercial implications of service performance * Manage in-life contract changes * Advise on strategic commercial implications resulting from legal & regulatory changes * Support & advise on the commercial dispute management strategy * Define & oversee adherence to commercial policies & procedures * Own and apply commercial scrutiny via governance gates e.g., divisional and group contract review committees Job title: Senior Commercial Manager Job Description: Location - Flexible, able to travel to Darwen on occasion What you'll be doing: Specifically in relation to BBC TVL and BBC Audience Services: * Assist the sales team to secure profitable and deliverable new business * Provide commercial support in deal shaping, negotiations & contracting * Review pricing of existing and new business proposals to ensure they are aligned with company margin, risk and contingency provisions * Ensure all customer and supplier bids/contracts are approved and reviewed in line with deal approval governance and policy prior to submission/signature * Identify, manage and report on key commercial / legal risks (legal risks to be communicated to Legal function and ongoing appropriate support / liaison to be maintained) * Be one of the point of contacts for principal client contract(s) and provide in-life client contract management support * Review, interpret and advise on existing contract rights and obligations * Support change management of contracts including production of BAU contract variations * Support production of regular contract reporting in line with governance and contract requirements * Ensure that contract records are maintained and accessible as directed * Record, ratify and circulate commercial / negotiation meeting minutes when required * Support the business by owning and performing the ongoing admin of contracts (including the provision of contractual templates / tool kits, and delivering notices) * Support of sub-contractor relationship management. What we're looking for: * Experienced senior commercial individual who has track record in bidding for, negotiating and managing significant sales & supplier contracts * Has extensive commercial and contracts experience and demonstrable track record of owning and delivering pre and post contract activity, including: * Defining and/or advising on the commercial strategy for the bid lifecycle and/or customer engagement * Analysing and managing risk including assessing the revenue opportunity vs. cost and risk * Managing and securing internal approvals for new bid opportunities * Managing the commercial viability of bids * Leading negotiations encompassing multiple disciplines including supplier negotiations and flow-downs * Excellent knowledge of contract law and its application in SW / IT / BPO / Professional Services environments * Good working knowledge of GDPR * Modelling and testing contractual KPIs * Sound financial acumen (P&L, cashflow, balance sheet) and good understanding of financial modelling, contract pricing and differing pricing models * Producing reports and summaries (ad hoc and regular) which articulate key matters for a senior and/or non-commercial audience * Experienced in defining, driving and overseeing commercial & contract governance * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Experience in line management responsibilities of commercial colleagues * Strong leadership style focussed on engagement and driving to outcomes: * Strong & confident communicator able to successfully engage and influence at all levels of the organisation, including up to Divisional Management and senior members of Functional Teams * Champion to both the business and the Commercial function as a cross-functional leader and internal influencer * Confident decision-maker * Starter - Finisher: seeing activities through to successful completion whilst creating a platform for engagement & collaboration * Resilient and self-motivated * The ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure What's in it for you? * A competitive basic salary and benefits * 23 days holiday (rising to 27) with the opportunity to buy extra leave * Company matched pension, life assurance, a cycle2work scheme, 15 weeks' fully paid maternity, adoption and shared parental leave---and plenty more * Voluntary benefits designed to suit your lifestyle - from discounts on retail and socialising, to health & wellbeing, travel and technology * The opportunity to take a paid day out of the office, volunteering for our charity partners or a cause of your choice * Access to our Employee Network Groups, which represent every strand of diversity and allow colleagues to connect and learn from each other on an open, inclusive platform * You'll get the chance to follow your chosen career path anywhere in Capita.
