The Company was founded in Topeka, KS, after recognizing a need for Broadband Internet access in rural America. A hybrid approach to serving these "last-mile" customers was developed by extending high-capacity fiberoptic networks with the range, reliability, and flexibility of carrier-class wireless technologies. The Company connected its first subscriber in December of 2007. Today Mercury Broadband's rapidly expanding network is headquartered in Kansas City and provides Internet access to communities throughout the Midwest.Position Summary: The Director of Technical Services is responsible for developing the technical strategy and implementation of all equipment to be installed at the customer premise. The Director will work with a cross functional group to ensure all plans are accurate and prepared with the deployment schedules. The Director will be responsible for evaluating new network technologies and lead proof of concept deployments. Additionally, the role will serve as part of the core team responsible for defining and developing cohesive strategies and tactics that align with organizational objectives.   • Responsible for development of Installation, implementation, and technology standards and practices for all customer premise equipment.
  • Work with Field Operations and Fields Services on physical design restrictions and adjust plans as required.
  • Oversee team that provides technical support for VIP clients and customer escalations
  • Recruit, train, and develop a team of engineers and technicians to oversee and design customer premise installation and support of VIP customers
  • Design standards and method of procedures to be installed at customer premise
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to establish project designs, scopes, deliverables, and timelines
  • Works closely with Procurement to develop vendor relationships and purchasing/inventory timelines
  • Review, manage, purchase and forecast all customer premise equipment
  • Identify, develop, and manage supplier and vendor relationships
  • Evaluate new network technologies and lead proof of concept deployments
  • Interface with multiple teams and departments to ensure project completion on time and within budget
  • Establish strong relationships across the organization with key partners including Sales, Marketing, Wireless, Fiber, & Network Operations to meet the Company's goals and objectives.
  • Maintain and enhance a strong customer service-oriented environment for both internal and external customers, focused on problem avoidance and resolution. Skills & RequirementsEducation Requirements
    • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field10+ years industry experienceSkills
      • Ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions
      • Strong Business acumen
      • Proven experience as a leader in a technology role
      • Experience in Technical Project Management
      • Technical proficiency around ISP networks, LTE, FTTH, Hosted Services
      • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of networking components
      • Advanced understanding of computer hardware, software, and networking
      • Strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities
