Job Description:
Summary About the Position: Incumbent performs a wide variety of
administrative management duties under the general supervision of
the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) Supervisor Nurse Case Manager.
Responsibilities Assist in implementing the Soldier Recovery Unit
Program and advise various staff on all phases of the program.
Provides administrative support work and perform a variety of
clerical duties for the Soldier Recovery Unit. Use databases,
spreadsheets, and graphics software to plan, develop, present, and
implement methods of collecting and trending data depicting case
management productivity. Communicate effectively with patients
using tact and diplomacy. Schedule and coordinate appointments for
patients. Coordinate scheduling in order to avoid conflicts in

the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to
paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through
National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other

all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your

is in this document. Specialized Experience: One year of
specialized experience which includes coordinating appointments and
escorting Wounded, Ill, or Injured Soldiers and families to the
health service team; verify patient enrollment and eligibility for
services, provide patients with assistance and information to
obtain appointment within access to care standards for referred
care; schedule and reschedule appointments when necessary; enters
data using multiple computer programs including Microsoft office
and the various medical support software programs used within the
Department of Defense. This definition of specialized experience is
typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in
the federal service (GS-06). Proficiency Required: This position
requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words
per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in

in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule
(GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of
Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education
for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you
must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no
substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional
Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must
complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective
Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S.
Citizenship. Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
Direct deposit of pay is required. Selection is subject to
restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system
