Registered Nurse (RN) | Progressive Care Unit Location: Kansas City, MO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,229 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/23/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Compact License preferred Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience in MS/Tele and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown - Familiarity with Isolation Precautions and Wound Care/Wound Vac Description: The primary patients are those who have undergone bariatric surgery. Patients may have urology cases with specific procedures including Nephrectomy and Ileal conduit creation. Post-operative care includes managing patients after hepatobiliary surgeries like Whipple and liver resections. The unit also cares for colorectal patients requiring colon resection and ostomy procedures. Trauma patients are commonly admitted with abdominal injuries. Many patients experience necrotizing soft tissue infections requiring serial debridement and Wound Vac changes. Pain control post-operatively is often managed with Epidurals, PCA, and other infusions. Patients typically have multiple drains and Wound Vacs. Flexibility and the ability to float between departments may be necessary. The role involves working with a variety of patient demographics including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
