ICU/Critical Care RN in Saint Joseph, Missouri, 64506! Job Title:

nursing license prior to start Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI,
NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - 2 years of intensive care experience
required - First-time travelers are welcome Description: The role
involves providing nursing care in an intensive care unit setting.
The preferred patient ratio is 1:2. In urgent situations, the ratio
may flex to 1:3, but this is avoided when possible.
Responsibilities include monitoring diverse patient populations and
performing complex procedures such as thoracentesis, central line
placement, and ventilator management. Experience with Epic charting
system is preferred but not mandatory. Candidates must be
comfortable with floating between similar areas as needed. The unit
focuses on adult and geriatric populations. An interdisciplinary
team approach is practiced, involving collaboration with various
healthcare professionals. Equipment used may include Impella, IABP,
and CRRT machines. A strong understanding of cardiopulmonary and
neurological care is essential. Candidates should be skilled in
interpreting dysrhythmias and managing critical care protocols.
Flexibility with scheduling is required, including the possibility
of weekend shifts every three weeks. Infection prevention and
isolation precautions are critical components of patient care
