Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector (NGDS) is seeking a Sr.
Principal Military Trainer - Exercise Designer / Planner to join
our growing team of diverse professionals supporting our III Corps
program at Fort Riley in Kansas. The Exercise Designer / Planner
provides subject matter expert support in all phases of exercise
planning and the development and implementation of an effective,
reliable, exercise program that will be systematically and
periodically updated.
Responsibilities:
Plans exercises that meet all Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC)
requirements and IAW CJCS Guide 3501, the Joint training System; a
Primer for Senior Leaders
Quickly establishes credibility and interfacing with Senior
Military Leaders in order to determine exercise objective and
convey associated Exercise Support Manning Document (ESMD)
requirements
Facilitates In-Progress-Reviews (IPRs) with unit leadership in
order to determine and address information and capability gaps
Determines and communicates the Exercise Simulation Control Plan
(SCP) to unit leadership
Leads/Facilitates IPRs for all simulation exercises with unit and
key team members
Designs and plans exercise scenarios in a collaborative effort with
training audience representatives, training officer and event
planner
Develops and delivers scenario products such as historical reviews,
Road-To-Crisis (RTC), Operational Environment (OE) overview, and
other scenario products as each exercise evolves incrementally of
the JELC
Provides instruction in Master Scenario Event List (MSEL)
operations to members of the Exercise Control Group
Coordinates and adjusts suspense dates based on the needs to
develop products
Basic Qualifications:
One of the following:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of professional and/or
military leadership experience
Master's degree with a minimum of 8 years of professional and/or
military leadership experience
Experience at the battalion, brigade, and division level
Thorough understanding of MCIS and their inter-dependencies with
other WfF systems
Must have an active U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Secret
Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret security
clearance
Must be capable of conducting IPRs to schedule and tailor unit
training and forecast requirements for upcoming progressive
events
Experience in operations and training requirements at brigade or
higher level
Experience with training management
Thorough understanding of U.S. Army Intelligence operations to
include both G2 /S2 operations and ACE/BISE operations
Must have Military Education Level 4 (MEL-4) or equivalent
Intermediate Level Education (ILE)
Must be able to work on-site at Fort Riley in Kansas
Must be able to travel as needed (up to 25% of the time)
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Current TS/SCI clearance
CTC Observer Controller and/or a Small Group Instructor
Former service as a primary or deputy corps or division staff
officer FA 57 with exercise experience
Collection management experience
Outstanding communication skills with the ability to correspond and
communicate with senior military leaders
OIF and OEF experience, working knowledge of MSEL development and
providing an uncooperative, challenging OPFOR during command post
exercises
Salary Range: $77,400 USD - $116,000 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to
base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual
contributions as well as allow employees to share in company
results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be
eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman
