Compensation: $60,000 - 82,000 / year*Salary can vary depending
upon education, experience, or qualifications.
Position Summary & Responsibilities: Position Summary: In
collaboration with state leadership and Bioscience/Tech Sector
partners, designs a framework through which Kansas can
professionally and skillfully re-establish technology and bio/life
sciences as a major business recruitment and retention priority
helping make Kansas a national leader in bioscience, foster
economic growth, advance scientific knowledge and improve Kansans'
quality of life. Job Responsibilities may include but are not
limited to the following: - Advises and coordinates with the
Secretary of Commerce, Chief Strategy Officer and the
Administration on methods and strategies to be more competitive in
the advanced technology sector, especially business development
including startups, recruitment and business expansion - Serve as a
liaison with companies and entrepreneurs in the technology sector
by identifying opportunities for growth and developing positive
relationships with key individuals in such companies - Remains
current in areas of expertise in technology sectors. Provide
technical business assistance to early stage Kansas companies
regarding SBIR/STTR and technology commercialization, coordinates
training seminars, provides mentoring and intermediary services
linking businesses with federal agencies - Develop partnerships
with Regent universities to advance research investments toward
commercialization, thus creating new business ventures that seek to
grow in Kansas - Serves as liaison with trade associations in the
technology sector to market Kansas as a national leader in
technology growth - Performs other duties as assigned. -
Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor's degree in a STEM field -
Minimum Qualifications: Licensing & Certification: - 2 or more
years in a STEM industry position or graduate school - Internship
during undergraduate or graduate studies - NOTE: If you lack any
