LITIGATION PARALEGAL JOB POSTING LOCATION: DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY STATUS: NON-EXEMPT, FULL-TIME COMPENSATION: COMPETITIVE SALARY & BENEFITS HOURS: 8:30 A.M. – 5:30 P.M. LITIGATION PARALEGAL – KC law firm seeking litigation paralegal to provide support for litigation partners in our aviation practice group. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely production of legal documents; e-file documents and pleadings with courts, perform legal research; prepare and submit time records. We are an internationally recognized aviation law firm and an exceptionally friendly, talented and experienced legal team. RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare legal documents, document comparisons, bates labeling, redlining, etc. Electronic filing of court documents Enter daily attorney timekeeping Scan and maintain client documents, both manual and electronic Perform legal research Maintain attorney calendars Docket court deadlines Prepare new client/matter conflict checks Answer phones and provide reception relief Coordinate travel arrangements and meeting preparation ABILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment Strong attention to details and demonstrated initiative Possess strong work ethic with high level of discretion Regular and punctual attendance is essential Team player with ability to work occasional overtime EDUCATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s Degree, preferred or Paralegal Certification 2 years law firm experience with litigation Piloting experience a plus Computer skills: MS Office and Outlook, required; Tabs Timekeeping, e-billing, NetDocs and Kofax PDF preferred; 65 wpm typing speed BENEFITS: Employer offers competitive salary and benefits, including health, vision and dental insurance; life and AD&D insurance; 401(K); paid time off; paid parking.
