The Chemical Analysis Division (CAD) features innovative analytics, from Lab to Line to Field. The business serves a wide breath of industrial markets including pharmaceutical, food and beverage, environmental, process minerals, mining, coal, cement and metals, as well as academic, government, safety, and security.

How you will make an impact

Field Safety Instruments, a business unit of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is the leader in handheld XRF, Raman, and Infrared devices that enable precise material identification and characterization across a wide variety of end markets. It is the product of three acquisitions over the past decade and brings together a product portfolio with leading market positions globally.

We currently have a position open for a Product Sales Specialist who will be responsible for expanding relationships with existing customers by directing and supporting collaborative sales efforts to grow one or more assigned product lines.

The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the NA Sales Director, the Product Sales Specialist will be responsible for supporting the NA sales team regarding Non-Alloy Applications specifically for consumer goods, Environmental, Regulatory, Mining and Soils. In addition, they cover sales inquiries for the Industrial portfolio within Oklahoma & Arkansas.

What you will do

  • Create and develop a stream of sales leads
  • Quickly respond to sales leads
  • Maintain account, contact, and opportunity information in SalesForce.com
  • Achieve individual and team sales quotas (Non Alloys NA)
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasting
  • Demo the XRF product offering to potential customers
  • Complete on site customer training after sale
  • Create customer sales quotes
  • Maintain and refresh knowledge of industry trends and competitive offerings
  • Understand and discuss trends, customer concerns, and competitor activities
  • Deliver sales presentations, seminars, or workshops
  • Provide support to trade shows and conferences
  • Maintain customer account, contact, and lead information
  • Foster a positive image of the Company with customers
  • Maintain strong, lasting customer relationships
  • Assist with department reports and metrics
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Minimal travel required (50%)

How you will get here

Education

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred

Experience

  • 2-5 years of commercial sales or related experience
    • Previous XRF sales experience a plus
    • Experience in large global companies a plus
  • Intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Fluent verbal and written communication, with superior presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, autonomous environment with minimal direction (remote role)
