Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas has an opportunity for a Business Intelligence Data Scientist. This position is responsible for identifying, extracting, organizing, storing, analyzing, reporting, and modeling data in support of corporate strategies and initiatives, evaluating business assessments, value performance measurements, and function value measurements.

What youll do

The primary focus will involve collecting, analyzing, visualizing, modeling, and disseminating internal and external data sources; translating business questions or opportunities into robust data analyses that will support business recommendations to executive leadership; and providing scenario modeling and predictive analysis to deliver valuable and dependable insights.
Create and maintain data pipelines, quantitative modeling and analysis, data visualization,and dashboarding.
Develop and maintain interactive dashboards for a variety of client areas and spanning a

wide array of metrics, KPIs, and KRIs.

Deploy machine learning and other artificial intelligence methods to gain deep insights

and predictive ability, while understanding and recognizing inappropriate interpretations

and uses of such methods and results.

Organize and maintain datasets with various features joined across multiple sources.
Maintain an expert understanding of analytics software and work with IT resources to

ensure the data, input, processing, and output are optimal.

Analyze trends in data throughout each calendar year, providing in-depth industry

knowledge about current competitor, market, and industry trends.

Initiate process improvement and automation from concept to implementation.
Complete business analysis on new analytic opportunities that may include proof of

concept, functional testing, determination of yield, time to complete, and financial impact.
