(https://ryder.com/job-applicant-privacy-policy)\_You are the driving force behind our company.Start your career with Ryder today!**Summary**The Fleet Management Solutions Financial Data Analytics team is responsible for data mining, financial analysis, and reporting on the 150,000 vehicles owned by Ryder and determining optimal asset management strategies to maximize profitability. The team also works with Operations leadership to implement solutions and calculate the financial improvement that results from those actions. Our Financial Data Analytics team operates in a fast paced environment where we are challenged to utilize the cutting edge analytics & machine learning techniques to build predictive models and promote data driven decision making throughout the organization.*** REMOTE work from HOME*****Essential Functions**+ Have the intellectual curiosity to actively seek out new areas of potential improvement and drill into the details to find the root cause of problems. This requires a willingness to question assumptions and an internal drive for continuous improvement.+ Build ML models to predict future cash flows resulting from new asset management policies and strategies.+ Work with business partners to identify cost savings opportunities, model how potential actions would impact the P&L, identify risks to the plan, create reporting to measure progress, and report savings results to senior leadership.+ Mine data in SQL to discover trends and changes in profitability, determine cause-and-effect relationships, and then advise business partners on potential actions to improve results.+ Create automated reporting in Power BI to communicate performance metrics and highlight areas of potential improvement to operations management.+ Take ownership of the data and work to ensure that data is as complete and accurate as possible. This requires working with Operations to understand the business processes behind the data and with IT to understand how the data is processed and stored.**Additional Responsibilities**+ Performs other duties as assigned.**Skills and Abilities**+ Key tools include Excel, SQL, and Power BI+ Working knowledge in SQL, R, Python, or other scripting languages+ Experience building ML models and applying them to business cases+ Advanced knowledge of financial modeling and how business actions impact financial statements+ Must have a proven ability to drive business results with their databased insights+ Have a passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets and working with stakeholders to improve business outcomes+ Ability to arrive at and give recommendations to senior management based on available information+ Strong written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences**Qualifications**+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Math or related+ Master's degree preferred+ Four (4) years or more relevant experience+ Four (4) years or more experience in Corporate Finance, Applied Statistical Analysis or Transportation Industrial Engineering preferred**Applicants from California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York City & Washington:**Salary is determined based on internal equity; internal salary ranges; marketdata/ranges; applicant's skills; prior relevant experience; certain degrees orcertifications, etc.The salary for this position ranges from $70K to $95K.Salaries may be supplemented with a bonus as applicable and/or as business conditions allow.Ryder offers comprehensive health and welfare benefits, to include medical,prescription, dental, vision, life insurance and disability insurance options, as well as paid time off for vacation, illness, bereavement, family and parental leave, and a tax advantaged 401(k) retirement savings plan.**Job Category:** Financial AnalysisRyder is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free workplace.
