Location: Kansas City, KS (Main Facility and other local sites as assigned)
Pay Range: based on experience and education
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM or 9:30 AM-6:00 PM (some evenings/weekends may be required)
Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Staff member to support day-to-day maintenance operations for multiple facilities. This includes assisting with repairs, remodels, helpdesk requests, and upkeep of residential and academic buildings.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose and repair minor lighting/electrical issues


Prepare and turn over residential units between terms


Use electronic systems to track and close maintenance work orders


Prepare, repair, and paint drywall surfaces


Perform demolition and framing for remodels or space conversions


Install shelves, bulletin boards, and other fixtures


Move furniture and prep facilities as needed


Operate various facility equipment and tools


Assist with safety-related maintenance tasks and special projects


Perform other duties as assigned



Skills and Abilities:

Skilled in the safe use of hand/power tools and maintenance equipment


Intermediate experience in residential/commercial maintenance or remodeling


Ability to conduct routine preventative maintenance



Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED


At least 2 years of experience in building maintenance or construction


At least 2 years of experience with drywall, painting, and wall construction


Valid driver's license with a clean driving record



Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in large-scale maintenance environments


Associate degree in a related field


Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems


Experience in residential or campus-style housing environments



Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various temperature conditions


Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings if required


Must have visual and hearing ability to respond to alarms and safely operate equipment
