Reports to: Facility Services Maintenance Manager
FLSA status: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
The Plumber is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and general
operation of all plumbing systems across assigned facilities.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Maintain all plumbing systems, including hot/cold water, gas,
sewer, roof, and storm drains
Inspect and repair sinks, stools, urinals, water fountains, ice
machines, and floor drains
Maintain inventory of tools and spare parts
Plan jobs with cost estimates and order materials after review
Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and related
equipment
Must be available for emergency on-call needs 24/7
Perform other related duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Proficient with hand and power tools used in large facilities
Safe working practices and occupational hazard awareness
Ability to read diagrams and follow written/oral instructions
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Commitment to maintaining a positive and professional working
environment
Detail-oriented with the ability to meet multiple deadlines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED with trade school training
Master Plumber's license or 5+ years' experience in a large
facility setting
Familiarity with plumbing tools (e.g., pipe threader, cutter,
acetylene torch, concrete saw)
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Proficient in creating job plans and cost estimates
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with copper, PVC, PEC, iron, and glass piping
Background in educational, institutional, or similar
environments
WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular lifting up to 25 lbs., frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.,
occasional lifting over 100 lbs.
May involve standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive
motions
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
WORK SCHEDULE
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with flexibility for
evenings or weekends as needed.
